For The Lord

There are songs of praise to the Lord scattered throughout the Bible.  The portion called “Psalms” is even a songbook.  Two portions from Psalms follow:

1 It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High, 2 to proclaim your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night, 3 with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre. Psalms 92:1-3

1 Sing to Yahweh a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. 2 Yahweh has made known his salvation. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations. 3 He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4 Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises! 5 Sing praises to Yahweh with the harp, with the harp and the voice of melody. 6 With trumpets and sound of the ram’s horn, make a joyful noise before the King, Yahweh. Psalms 98:1-6

If you’ve taken a hard look at your sinfulness in comparison to God’s sinless perfection, if you’ve felt the gravity of your inability to enter God’s perfect Heaven without the perfect sacrifice of Jesus, and if you’ve begged for mercy from God through Jesus, you realize the mercy, grace, and forgiveness you received was a gift from the Lord.  Are you eternally grateful?  Perhaps you have a song of praise for the Lord?  If not, feel free to adopt the one attached.  Change it to suit, but please keep the heart of the message.  (To view and print the song lead song sheet score, click on the blue “For The Lord (Lead) wording.)
